The SETAC-CPRC Annual Spring Meeting was held Earth Day, April 22, 2013 at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville, MD
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Tim Wheeler, Environmental Reporter at The Baltimore Sun – We are excited that Tim Wheeler, the environment and Chesapeake Bay reporter for The Baltimore Sun will be our keynote speaker for the annual meeting. Tim is a former president of the Society of Environmental Journalists. He has received many awards for his work, most recently the 2012 “Excellence in Journalism” award from the Renewable Resources Foundation for his reporting on efforts to clean up Baltimore Harbor. He will speak about “Saving the Bay: 30 Years and Counting”
SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS – In addition to our keynote speaker we have lined up a stellar collection of presentations from a wide variety of speakers. Our hosts at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC; pronounced See-BECK) will tell us about the Center. Barnett Rattner, SETAC-NA immediate Past-President will also give us an update on SETAC activities, particularly those related to CPRC.
Call for Abstracts
While the call for platform presentations is closed, CPRC-SETAC is still accepting abstracts for poster presentations in all areas of environmental science, toxicology and chemistry research. Send poster abstracts no later than April 12, 2013 to CPRC at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please indicate if you are a student.
Registration is $50 for professionals and $25 for students. The fee includes the optional adventure day on the 21st (including free use of kayaks, a guided bird walk, and free use of the facilities – see below). PLUS, all of the catered food and drink (breakfast, breaks, and lunch) during the day of the 22nd, over a dozen presentations, posters, and student awards. Register now!
